Dilaudid (hydromorphone) is a strong opiate that does not contain Tylenol (acetaminophen). Therefore, you should be able to take it with Tylenol.

However, medications that already contain acetaminophen (such as Vicodin, Percocet, and Norco) should NOT be taken with Tylenol.

The reason for this is because an overdose of Tylenol can very likely cause damage to the liver.

I took 4 hours advil .. and then switched over to dilaudid and then switched back to advil - either or - but NOT TOGETHER. I did not take them together - but took turns between the two pain killers - for my knee replacement.
