Can you take Prozac on an as needed basis?

I would'nt, I know of several people who have overdose on this med., myself being one of them, I wasn't taking it regularly and then took my reg.dose to sleep and was out of it for 24 hours!!! If you do take it for sleep, take a fraction of your precribed dose or you'll be sorry!

This is a very difficult question to answer for a hypothetical patient. Generally, Seroquel is taken on a schedule (not "as needed"). However some prescribers may order a bedtime dose, or an extra dose on an as needed basis.

Patients should, of course, discuss their drug use with their doctor or pharmacist. Patients should not take a drug differently than prescribed, and switching from a schedule to "as needed" may have unwanted and dangerous effects if done without medical guidance.
