No, amoxicillin is an antibiotic in the penicillin category. You'll have the same "allergic" effect than if you were taking penicillin V, as an example.

Absolutley not. Once you are allergic to penicillin, you aren't able to take ANYTHING that falls within the penicillin family. Usually, people with a penicillin allergy are given erythromicin as an antibiotic instead.
