No, amoxicillin is an antibiotic in the penicillin category. You'll have the same "allergic" effect than if you were taking penicillin V, as an example.

∙ 13y agoAbsolutley not. Once you are allergic to penicillin, you aren't able to take ANYTHING that falls within the penicillin family. Usually, people with a penicillin allergy are given erythromicin as an antibiotic instead.

∙ 13y agoNo you cannot. Amoxicillin contains the same ingredients as Penicillin. If you are looking for a supplemental antibiotic I recommend Erythromycin.
