I have been on Cetirizine 10mg and Citalopram 20mg and it literally stopped my life..I was spending 12 hours in bed and the worst thing about it was the weak feeling, the lack of energy, all I wanted to do was lie down and it literally felt like you were sinking into the bed sheets...I would not take any SSRI with Cetirizine, Paxil (Paroxetine) was even worse, if you can imagine working a night shift, then trying to stay up all day, thats what it felt like..I'm now on a nasal spray called Nasonex for the allergy and asked to be switched onto an antidepressant called Mirtazine, I've taken it before and it is a gentler drug, particularly for milder depression...I know from experience it is easier to wean off than the SSRI's though I would still advise

you see a GP to monitor your withdrawal programme, I will come on again in a few weeks to let you know how I got on with the new combination...fingers crossed

I've been told by the pharmacist that you definitely can not take them both together, but I've been completely unable to find a reason for this. When I asked why not, she basically just said "because you can't" and refused to sell me both, so not all that helpful.
