No, taking the suboxone will cause you to withdrawl from the methadone

NEVER take those two together or you will withdrawl severely and possibly worse can happen. If you are wanting off methadone then I suggest suboxin but never combine those two together, EVER>

YES!!!! Suboxone is prescribed to get a person off Opiates or Methadone (a synthetic opiate) So most definitely if you are currently taking methadone and want to get off it then suboxone IMO, is the easiest and least painful way to detox. It is perfectly fine for there to be methadone still in your system at the same time you take suboxone, but unless you are wanting to detox, then there is no real point to taking both suboxone and methadone at the same time since suboxone is an opioid agonist/antagonist. Suboxone will definitely take away the withdrawal pains of detoxing off methadone, however imo, it is much better to detox w/ suboxone in a hospital/controlled setting so that you can be monitored. Suboxone is VERY expensive and generally can only be prescribed by doctors who have special permission, this is one reason it is generally better to detox with it in a hospital since insurance will cover this, but rarely will insurance cover the cost of outpatient prescription suboxone. I'm adding to to idiot that wrote yes. Please I am begging you don't ever take these together. It will take every muscle in your body to keep you from killing yourself. That is how bad the WD will be.

NO-NO-NO! If you take these 2 together, you WILL go into IMMEDIATE withdrawals, & end up in the hospital! My dad goes to the methadone clinic, & took a soboxson on top of it....needless to say he thought he was dying the withdrawals were so bad. Take one or the other, but NEVER together. Methadone is like an opiate, & the soboxson has an opiate blocker in it ( naloxson ), which will make you very sick if theres ANY opiates in your system. When you start soboxson, the dr.s want you to come in withdrawing. It's to make sure that the naloxson doesn't mix w/ anything to make you sick. If you are in a methadone treatment clinic, or have taken methadone for a period of time, you will HAVE to come off of it completely, withdraw at least a week before taking the soboxson. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU HAVE ALL METHADONE/OPIATES OUT OF YOUR SYSTEM BEFORE TAKING THE SUBOXSON!

No, you should wait until it is out of your system because mixing or combining Methadone and Suboxone can result in instant withdrawals.

No, methadone and suboxone should never be taken together. If these medications are combined, it can result in severe sickness and instant withdrawals.
