Lortab is identical to Vicodin - it is a combination of hydrocodone and paracetomol (acetaminophen). If you are truly diagnosed allergic to Codeine (hydrocodone), you should not take it. Allergy to acetaminophen is extremely rare.

∙ 13y agoYes, you can. I do, and I've been taking it for several years. It might still make you itch a little, but nowhere near as much as the itching from codeine. It has few side effects. I tend to get a little motion sick sometimes, but if I take generic Dramamine (or just lie still) and generic Benadryl with it, I'm usually fine.
Lortab is made from generic Tylenol and hydrocodone, which is related to codeine, but not the same thing. Hope this helps.

I believe you mean "Oxycodone" which is the generic name for Percocet or Tylox. My doctors know I am allergic to codeine; but subscribe Oxycodone, which has codeine, but so does percocet. I am waiting for pharmacist to call me know to let me know if it has the same amount. Percocet does not bother my stomach but Oxycodone does.

No Darvocet (acetaminophen and propoxyphene) does not contain codeine. Darvocet is not known as percocet, (percocet is oxycodone) and is also a 1/4 of the strength of codeine. It is also more closely related to Demerol then codeine. It would take 2 darvocet 100 to even match the strength of one hydrocodone.

Most probably. However, there are subtle differences that may allow you to take codeine. There are other opioids that you may be able to take. Hydrocodone (Vicodin) and oxycodone (Percocet) may work for you. You might also consider tramadol which is totally synthetic. Good Luck.
