No you cannot, unless of course, you are wanting to spend several tens of thousands of dollars in mods. The 1968's body lines are not as pronounced, the tail lights are completely different, and the front end is as well. Sorry, it's not a reasonable expectation to be able to convert between the two.
The above response is from a different person.
I, actually being a proud own of one unlike the guy above, can say yes you can. You will spend some money, but not in the 10s of thousands. I have a 67 4 door hardtop and am about to wrap up the restoration in a couple weeks, (turned it into a metallicar clone like the one from the show supernatural, which I'm assuming you are trying to do with a 68.) What do you need? You need a donor 67 for the front end. You need the grill, fenders, bumper, lights, radiator support, etc. For the rear, you will need the rear from a 4 door or convertible. It could be a caprice, impala, biscayne, etc. There were a bunch of models, but basically the same car. Most of these parts are not reproduced, hence why you need a donor car in order to do this. That will take care of the exterior. You will need to swap out interiors if you are to copy the 67's interior because they ARE different. One more note, if you are building a metallicar clone and do not have a 4 door HARDTOP SPORT SEDAN, do not waste your time. The regular 4 doors are not worth a cent, and they look nothing like the one from the show. They have a different roofline, pillars where there should be none, and the rear windows at the top corners are different. It took me 2 1/2 years to find a 4 door sports sedan. They are extremely rare, but you will find one. I know a guy who has a couple for sale right now. He's on cardomain. Look up mpick on car domain in the 67 impalas. talk to him.
it is cool
