the transmission fluid for your truck is dex/merc
None. You have no choice but to use the 4L60E in it because of the computor.
The ONLY transmission you can use in that year is a 4L60E if it is a 1/2 ton and a 4L80E if it is a 3/4 ton BECAUSE of the COMPUTER SYSTEM on the truck.
All you have to do is unplug the wires going to the transfer case, and plug it back up if you ever have to use 4x4 again. If you do want to change it to 4x2 it will cost you alot.
It came factory with a 4L60E transmission. That is the only one that you can use in it because of the computor/ PCM. Power train control module.
It's 2x4, not 2x2, and typically, the answer is going to be no. A 2x4 transmission will be set up for the driveshaft to run directly from the transmission to the driveshaft, and won't be set up to allow the mounting of a transfer case to it. Additionally, the splines of a 2x4 and 4x4 transmission may not be the same, as the output shaft of the 4x4 transmission would be going into a transfer case, and wouldn't be directly connected to a driveshaft.
Need to know the year and kind of transmission that your going to use, And is the 93 truck a 4x4 or a 2 wheel dr. NEUTZ.
Yes. They both use the same 4L60E transmission.
That year did not use a modulator valve on the transmission. That transmission is all computer controlled.
No it will not it is all together different. You MUST use a 97 model 4L60E transmission.
you will need to swap the output shaft and tail housing from the old 4x4 transmission to the 2wd tranny which requires complete disassemble and then reassemble of the transmission
You connect your floor shifter to your transfer case in a 4x4 Chevy truck 1993 by getting under the truck and looking for the rod that comes from the shifter to the transfer case. Then, use the pin connector to connect the rod.
