I think you can but on your Windows 98 Computer make sure that in your BIOS the Floppy Drive is the very top one.
Plus to get to the BIOS depends on your Computer. Here are the shortcuts that I know of to get to the BIOS:
F2 , Del (or Delete) , or F10
Just experiment with the keys until you get to the BIOS.

Yes. Bootable disks created in Windows XP and later use the same files as Windows Me. They will all be able to access and format the hard drive.
No, it will not be in a compatible format. Floppy disks must be formatted in FAT in order for a PC to read them. There may however be Linux tools that will be able to read the data.
If the computer with Vista doesn't have a floppy disk drive, you won't be able to. You could, however, open the document on another computer and then save it to a CD or portable disk drive. Then you should be able to upload it onto the computer with Vista (if the computer with Vista has a Word program installed. But even if the computer with Vista doesn't have Word installed, you can still upload it, but you won't be able to view it.)
formatting a floppy lets the computer understand it and then, it will be able to read and write data to it. this should only have to be done once for each computer you want to be able to read and write data off of.
No reason why not. Windows XP should be able to read disks created with Windows 98 without any problems. OpenOffice is capable of reading a wide variety of files.
Yes.
Usually, you will just need to insert the floppies into the floppy disk drive on a computer. If your computer does not have a floppy drive (most made since 2003 don't), you will need to purchase an external floppy drive. These connect to your computer through a USB port. After you plug it in and insert a disk, you should be able to find the drive and view your pictures.
Windows 98 startup disk has some useful utilities and can be used to repair Windows 98 without any additional drives. A floppy which was created by format A s, just have loader, and couple system files to be able to boot MSDOS.
It is checking to see if a bootable disk (i.e. windows startup disk) is inserted. Obviously, if it didn't check + your computer didn't work then you wouldn't be able to use your startup disk.
The 3.5 floppy disk does have magnetism within them and for this reason, magnets destroying data on the floppy disk fueled the myth about magnets destroying your computer. If you buy a cheap magnet and put it near a floppy disk, the magnet will stick to it. After a few seconds, the information on that floppy disk will be destroyed and you will no longer be able to access the data.
You could select the ones you want and drag and drop them into the folder you want, or select the photos you want. Press ctrl+c then ctrl+v in the place the you want to move them to.You are using the words FLOPPY DISK, so I assume you have an external floppy drive or are you using an old computer? I bought an external floppy drive to be able to help people transition their information properly to at least CD/DVD storage. I would be certain of what you have before advising you what to do.GrandmaJ.
One could get a floppy drive repaired from their local computer repair shop. It is doubtful if any major computer store will repair one now since they are an obsolete technology but an independent local repair shop will probably be able to do it.
