Yes. A permanent filter will work but it must be large enough to fit the large size of the Bunn B10 line of coffee makers. The spray head design of the B10 coffee machines means the basket is larger than a typical 10-12 cup coffee maker.
You may find some 10-12 cup filters are too small for the basket and allow the water to overflow over the top of the filter allowing the coffee grounds to flow over the filter and into the coffee pot.
You may need to experiment with "commercial" sized permanent coffee filters to find something with a large enough capacity.
