At what voltage do you need to use double locknuts on Rigid Metal Conduit?
There are no voltage regulations. A rigid conduit system used two locknuts and one bushing at every connection to a junction box unless the box has a hub. One outside the box and the other locknut inside the box. These are tightened against each other to make the connection secure and to scratch the paint on the outside of the box to make continuity of the metallic system. Continuity of the system is a must as this is the return path for any short circuit that might occur. Rigid connections to fittings require no locknuts as the conduit's threaded end screws into the fitting.
There are only 3 phases that come into house main fuse box so where does ground and neutral come from?
It is very rare to have three-phase electricity coming into a residence. One of the wires is probably the neutral (It will be white or black with white stripes.) The ground comes in from a ground rod near the main, and connects to the ground coming from the meter, AND (If the main fuse box is the first disconnecting means,) the neutral and ground bars have to be bonded together in the box.

It would be necessary to have detailed information describing the contents of the box. It is not valid to assume a priori that any arbitrary iron box, such as one might encounter in repose on the ground, must contain electronic components.

A tap splice is a splice that is made usually in a mid span of aerial feeder conductors. It is used to connect a home from a utility company's secondary service drop on the street where the span is between poles and it is not convenient to connect a mid span home to either pole. Tap splices are also made in underground services where the utility feeders are in conduit between junction boxes. Each home along the route has an underground conduit from the junction box to the homes meter base. In the junction box where the home service wires connect to the utility feeders, this splice is known as a tap splice.
Why don't they make the entire plane out of black box material?
The material that the black box is made of is too heavy. A whole plane made of the same material (All stainless steel), it would have a hard time getting off the ground and would be ridiculously expensive.
Do you have to break the ground wire at a pull box and bond it to the box?
When you refer to a pull box you have to be talking about a conduit system. In a metallic system, no don't have to ground pull boxes. By the fact that it is a metallic system the conduit and associated boxes are already grounded by the connection to the distribution panel. In a PVC conduit system a ground wire has to be pulled so that the load device has a return ground wire to trip the breaker on a ground fault. Pull boxes in a PVC system don't have to be grounded just the last junction box at the load.

You do not use a ground wire in the connection from the meter base to the distribution panel. A bonding wire may be required if the service is using PVC conduit.
Can you use PVC pipe as PVC conduit?
Yes, that can be done. Just get the correct connector to use when connecting the PVC to the metal box.

This is achieved using a "heater box," or a "heater blanket." Greenlee tools makes both, specifically for working with PVC conduit. Also available are plugs for plugging the ends of the PVC lengths to be bent, for keeping heat trapped inside the pipe and speeding up the heating process.

In home wiring, with the type of wire being used it would be near impossible to drag a cable through a switch or receptacle junction box without cutting the cable. Once this cable is cut, the grounds have to be spliced together and this ground wire is then required by code to be grounded to the box.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of steel junction boxs?
There are no advantages or disadvantages over which type of junction box to be used on electrical wiring. As long as the junction box is of an approved type (CSA or UL approved). It is cost or location which dictates which boxes will be used. PVC boxes for home wiring are the cheapest. Aluminium or steel are usually used in rigid or EMT conduit systems. PVC again when the conduit system involves underground wiring. In large electrical installations it is the electrical engineer that states what the conduit system type is and what type of electrical junction boxes that must be used.
What do I attach the green wire from the light fixture to?
The green wire on the light fixture is a ground wire. If there is no ground wire in the conduit, the green wire should be attached to the metal box with a screw.
Can you run coaxial in the same PVC conduit as the electric service?
No, the utility company wants nothing but the service wires in the service stack. Another weather head can be installed to accept your cable and telephone service positioned adjacent to the service stack. If underground service a separate conduit to the comunications pull box will be needed.
Would it be better to use plastic or metal junction box?
In the electrical trade it makes no difference which type of box you use. Both types are approved to be used as an electrical junction box. If the object is to keep costs down go with the plastic box. In harsher environments plastic boxes are used along with PVC plastic conduit.

A conduit bushing is used when a conduit is terminated in a junction box or enclosure. Its purpose is to provide a smooth rounded surface so that when the wire is pulled into the conduit the insulation on the wire will not be damaged.
