It is true that nearly all things are possible, but not all things are a good idea. Yes, you probably could do this, but you need to still switch power direction / voltage polarity as the generator is spinning, so you may need some equipment to monitor the generator RPMS to control the switching. It may be very difficult to handle sudden changes in speed.

The bueaty of the standard design (using a commutator) is its simplicity.

What happens if commutator of DC generator is removed?

If the commutator is removed from your generator, you (if you connect slip rings) get AC supply instead of DC supply. the function of the commutator is to convert AC to DC supply and vice versa.Additional AnswerRemoving the commutator will also prevent you from connecting the output of the generator to its load. Remember, the generator's armature is spinning!

What are the disadvantages of a brushless generator?

A brushless generator, in contrast, typically uses a solid-state rectifier assembly in place of the brushes and rings. This assembly contains no moving parts. This is important, as it makes the system more reliable and less prone to mechanical breakdown, jamming or seizing as a result of obstructions in the casing. Instead, a continuing charge is built up by transferring a portion of the generator's AC charge back into the exciter.

Why is semiconductor used for current instead of normal conductor materials?

The kind of material used in a device depends on its requirements and functions. Semiconductors are used where we need moderate conductivity, conductors are used where we need very high conductivity. Junction diodes(a semiconductor device) allows electricity to pass in one direction and can be used as rectifier. Conductors can't do this. Transistors and LED are other applications of semiconductor. Note that generally devices are made of both conductors and semiconductors.

Why carbon is used in brushes instead of semiconductor material in motor?

There are a number of reasons, including: 1. Carbon is self-lubricating. 2. Carbon has a negative temperature coefficient of resistance, which means that its resistance falls as its temperature increases -which is opposite that of metals such as copper. 3. Carbon is softer than copper, so will not damage the commutator. 4. Carbon will acquire the shape of the commutator segments and, so, will ensure maximum contact with them.

How does a Shockley diode work?

A Shockley diode uses a metal-semiconductor junction instead of a p-n semiconductor-semiconductor junction. This results in a device with a much lower forward bias voltage drop and much faster switching times.

Do split rings convert AC to DC power in DC motor?

no they do notAnswerYes, a split-ring commutator does convert a.c. to d.c. It is a rotary switch fitted to the shaft of the generator, which reverses the polarity of its output every half-cycle, so that the generator's output is a pulsating d.c. instead of a.c.

What is a schottky transister?

A very high speed bipolar junction transistor having a metal-semiconductor emitter base junction instead of a semiconductor-semiconductor emitter base junction.

Can you use a motor instead of generator to produce current?

no

What is a multiple generator?

Multiple generators are when you use several smaller generators instead of one larger one. For example, you might use multiple 10Kw generators instead of one 30Kw generator.

How do I change to a gas power generator?

If you were wanting to change an electric power generator to a gas power generator, I would probably not do it on my own. Instead I suggest you call a professional to change it for you.

Difference between 4 diodes and 2 diodes rectifier?

a 2 diode rectifier is a center tap rectifier an a 4 diode rectifier will be a bridge rectifier *********************************************************** A two-diode rectifier is not always a centre-tap rectifier. If the two diodes are connected to the same end of a transformer's secondary, one by its anode and one by its cathode, one will proved a positive voltage with respect to trhe other end of the winding and the other will provide a negative voltage. (But perhaps that isn't considered a two-diode rectifier - but a two single-diode ones.)

Why you are using the bridge rectifier in most of the circuits instead of full wave rectifier eventhough the output of both are same?

If diode in the bridge circuit becomes open the circuit will become a half wave rectifier instead, but if a diode in a full wave rectifier opens then the whole circuit becomes open. (No current flow). ************************************************************** The outputs of the bridge and the two-diode full wave rectifier are not the same. For the rectified voltage to be the same value, the two-diode full wave rectifier must be supplied from a centre tapped transformer winding, the total voltage of which is twice that necessary for the bridge rectifier circuit. Furthermore, the maximum d.c. which may be drawn from the centre tapped transformer/two-diode arrangement, assuming capacitive filtering, is the same value as the transformer secondary winding's capacity. In the case of the bridge, the maximum d.c. which may be drawn, also assuming capacitive filtering, is 62% of the transformer secondary winding's capacity.
