If you got your ear lobes pierced keep the same earrings you got them pierced with in for 6 weeks and then take them out and put in any other pair you want except for dangle earrings (you can't wear those for 1 year) and wear those for 6 months to insure that the hole will stay open.
If you got your ear cartilage pierced keep it in for 8 weeks and follow instructions given above.

∙ 14y agoWearing wire earrings when the piercing is new (under a year old) can actually damage the piercings, the hook should be no less than 18g (which in most cases the hook is 20g and too fine to support the actual weight of the jewellery in the case of long dangle earrings. I would suggest you hold off on wearing anything too large or heavy until the piercing is fully seasoned.

∙ 14y agoIt is preferred to wear solid gold of silver earrings right after piercing the ears to decrease infection. But after about 6 weeks, you can wear all the non gold earrings you want!!

I agree. Claire's is an alright place to gt your ears pierced, but I would recommend Piercing Pagoda, because they specialize in ear piercings, and they have very high quality earrings. Claire's is a good place to get earrings after you have gotten your ears pierced, but, I would most recommend getting them pierced somewhere else.
