yes they can get sick. Be careful, though, they can easily get heatstroke in summer. Never keep your chinchilla in over 75 degree weather. It can kill them.

Feed it some poo if he's sick he will throw it up if he isn't he will swallow it so the best method is to feed it poo until he swallows it and keeps it down other wise he might die
