First clean battery connections, if this does not correct problem the battery needs replacing.
If the clock keeps resetting in a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, the problem is probably with the battery. It is quite possible that the battery is going dead after the vehicle is parked, leaving just enough life in it to restart the car. It can also be an alternator problem causing the battery to be drained.
You can't. Unless you figure out how to connect both of the to an external power supply.
After many attempts I found the method in the madness. The key must be in and turned as far as it will go without starting the engine. Hold down the menu button, scroll to 'set time' Set hour, minutes, date, scroll all the way to the end then press menu for changes to be saved. Now when you start the engine the clock settings should remain as you set them. make sure your battery and all connections are secure - most of the time the clock resets due to a loss of power from the car's battery due to a corroded terminal.
Yes. If you remove the radio, the clock will simply show the current time and date. Beware, though, when I changed my radio, the clock's software went crazy and it stopped updating the clock. That means that when I turned the car on, it would show me the correct time, but then it wouldn't advance until I turned the car off and on again. This was fixed by unplugging the battery thereby resetting the clock's software.
your key is probably still in the ignitionA bit more:The clock in my car continues to run even after I turn it off and remove the keys. The car battery is what keeps the clock running, but it uses so little power that there's no danger of it running down your car battery as it would if you left your headlights on.
It keeps the car/truck from starting in any gear except park & neutral
there are alarm systems that have disabling features. there is either a reset button usually placed somewhere under the dashboard or resetting can be done with the electronic buttons on the key.
It keeps the car from starting in gear. The starter will only engage in park or neutral.
The clock
Resetting the computer is done when you clear the code, either by a battery disconnect or a code scanner. To ensure the car will pass an emssions inspection it has to complete a "drive cycle", which is a series of conditions the car has to be driven in before the car is ready to test,
There is no such thing as resetting an automobile battery. You can recharge it but you cannot reset it.
It means: All sounds are normal in the starting if the car ( i.e.the click, the winding up sound), but the car never actually starts or keeps running on its own.
