There were several great cars in the 1950's. A few of the cars were the Jaguar XK120, Ford Thunderbird, MG MGA 1500, and Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato.

Never heard of any ad on self driving cars in the 50s.
All modern cars today are for the most part 12 volts DC. Some older cars from the 50s back were 6 volt.
Production cars are the Volkswagen Schwimmkuebelwagen or the Amphicar produced in Germany in the 50s.

Most cars built in 1940 had a running board. After World War 2 starting with the 1946 cars the running boards were gone except on some pickup trucks which still had them well into the 50s.
All auto batteries are 12 volt except very old cars prior to the late 50s.
