There is no difference as the Catholic Church is the original Christian Church tracing its history back to Christ and the Apostles. However, some Protestant denominations have taken the original Catholic beliefs and picked from them only the parts that they felt coincided with their views and discarded those that contradicted their beliefs.

The symbol of Christianity is the cross. However, the Holocaust was not a matter of "Christians versus Jews", so the question is puzzling.
There is no "Catholicism versus Christian" as they are exactly the same religion. The problem comes in with modern protestant who have appropriated the word "Christian" to themselves to exclude the Catholic Church. In reality, Our Blessed Lord, Jesus Christ, only formed one religion, and one Church, and that was the Catholic Church. One thousand, five hundred years later, Martin Luther came along and "protested" against the Christian religion and started the Lutheran Church, while about the same time, Henry VIII did the same in England starting the Anglican Church. From there the ball started rolling downhill, and they have spawned over 30,000 different "protestant" religions. Although these are technically heresies, their believers may be considered Christians to the extent that they are validly baptized and believe in the Nicene Creed - in its traditional interpretation. Outside of that they are using the word "Christian" in a completely untraditional and unrealistic manner.
Christians strive to be like God. That being said, they do their best to not sin, versus giving into temptation.
