This book was written by Scott O' Dell and is about a group of Indians who sail east and one young girl and her brother are left behind. She builds shelter and makes weapons to fight her enemies, the wild dogs. The wild dogs kill her brother and she almost kills the leader, and a arrow gets stuck in his chest. She carries it home and nurses him back to health. Then, she keeps him and names him Rontu. Later, she finds baby birds and keeps them as pets.She also tries to catch a large devilfish.There is more to the story but I haven't read it all. I will post more when I read it.
