The fuel system on newer vehicles is pressurized, if the computer detects that the fuel system is "leaking" pressure it throws a code. The most common problem is that the gasket on the fuel cap is either broken(cracked or missing pieces) or dry. If it is broken replace the cap. If the seal looks ok rub a thin layer of Vasoline on it and be sure to properly tighten it, on most Fords they can only be turned a certain amount.

It means that the EVAP system senses a leak in the gas cap, or filler neck. The most common problems that cause this, are a loose gas cap, or a defective gas cap.
It means you have a small evaporative leak in your fuel system. Check that the fuel cap is tight, and check that the rubber seal is not cracked.

Turn fuel cap until it clicks. Then you will no it works with out any leaks. If the fuel cap is leaking, have the cap pressure tested, I believe it should hold to 26.* p.s.i. Replace fuel filler cap if needed.
