Cholesterol causes plaque to build up on the inside of blood vessel walls. Think of painting a wall and adding layer after layer in one spot. Plaque can be in patches or make longer sections. It narrows blood vessels so red blood cells begin to stick to the plaque, making more blockage. It is most associated with causing atherosclerosis, a chronic condition. It can lead to heart attack, stroke, or death.

In other words it is fibrin.
Fibrin.
Cholesterol, a fatty substance, is closely associated with atherosclerosis. This condition occurs when cholesterol forms deposits on blood vessel walls, which causes the walls to harden and narrow.
