Skaneateles Lake in Upstate NY. Used to be rated as #4 in the WORLD, I think it may have dropped to 7th or 8th place though. Over 400' deep in some area's. Spring fed, pretty cold, average summer temp is 71 degrees. Great boating, Fishing, 1 mile wide, 16.5 miles long, One of the Fingerlakes in upstate NY.

-- The cleanest / clearest lake in America is Crater Lake, OR. It is a National Park in southern Oregon. It is the deepest lake in America at 1949' and you can see down as deep as 142'. It has no tributaries in or out. It is only fed by rain and snowfall. Evaporation is the only way water gets out. It is a volcanic crater that has filled with rain and snowfall for thousands of years. The only fish in the lake were stocked decades ago.
