Colorado is a state that encompasses most of the Southern Rocky Mountains as well as the northeastern portion of the Colorado Plateau and the western edge of the Great Plains. Colorado has Some very cold temperatures alternating with some surprisingly warm days.The highest temperature recorded in Colorado as of July 10, 2013 is 114 degrees in Las Animas, Co on 6/23/2012 (per the National Climatic Data Center)
