May need a recharge and or possible leak. Have a shop check line pressure for you or is easily done with a guage.
Is the compressor running ?
a lot of reasons.. compressor not running, unit might me iced up and restricting air .
Look to see if the compressor is running when the ac is on. If not, then check the Freon pressure, as the compressor won't run if the Freon is low.
The first thing to check is that the outside unit is running. That the compressor and the Fan is running. If they are running, then have the Freon pressure in the system checked. You may be low on coolant.
You don't.Suction temperature does.Suction line should be cold and sweating. That's what keeps compressor motor cool.Discharge will always be hot.
unit is most likely low on refrigerant due to a leak, or compressor in the outdoor unit is not running.
If the compressor is running, the blower is blowing, and there's no cold air, you need freon. If the whining is from under the hood, the compressor may be damaged. That's what happens when running without freon.
You have to have the motor running as well as the AC compressor turning (AC on) to circulate the freon through the system
Check to see if your condenser fan is running when a/c compressor kick on.
Can't do it. The lubricant is mixed in with the refrigerant. Converted to air it would be running dry.
The compressor is so hot b/c there are fans inside that push the hot air out of the refrigerator. No cold air is blowing out b/c the cold air is going into the fridge.
If the compressor has stopped running altogether the AC will not work.
