Yes, hydropower can be used in schools, particularly those located near water sources like rivers or streams. Small-scale hydropower systems, such as micro-hydro turbines, can generate electricity to power school facilities and reduce energy costs. Additionally, integrating hydropower into the school’s curriculum can provide valuable educational opportunities in renewable energy and environmental science. However, feasibility depends on local water resources and regulations.

I can say it is being used in most countries because when the inventor of hydropower died the invention was released from the Geneva convention and he could not renew it because they say the arabians killed him in that same year so they can use it. It is not used in the Bahamas where I live so i can only say it is used is some or most parts of the world.

International Hydropower Association's motto is 'Advancing Sustainable Hydropower'.
The sun plays an indirect role in hydropower generation by driving the water cycle. Solar energy heats the Earth's surface, causing water to evaporate and form clouds. When the clouds release rain, it replenishes water in rivers and lakes, which is then used to generate hydropower. So, the sun's impact on hydropower is in enabling water resources to be available for use in hydropower generation.
The purpose of hydropower is to generate electricity.
