I don't know what your specific problem is, but there is no distributor cap.
Could be a problem with a pulley bearing.
If that vehicle has the 2.2L engine, it doesn't have a distributor.
restabbing distributor and setting time I'm replacing 4 cylinder motor in a 87 Chevy s10 how do I install distributor and get the truck in time
That is the ignition coil.
We need to know which engine it has.
Distributor rotates clockwise.
The coil is attached to the top of the distributor cap.
Check the module under the distributor cap.
What i would do first is check the distributor cap and rotary button that's what usually goes bad first. if that's not it it could be the coil or maybe even the distributor itself.
Mounted in the center of the distributor cap.
It is right behind the distributor, It is hard to get to.
"open or short in ne,g circuit. distributor, open or short in sta" There's a problem in the distributor system. Could be the coil(common problem), the sensor, or rotor, or something else.
