You definitely need to take a long weekend on your own and figure things out. Or visit a therapist for help in sorting out your feelings. You owe commitment to your spouse because of your vows and you need to honor them. If you are serious about the other person and so is he, then you should do the right thing. If you split up with the spouse, take a year off and date.

∙ 12y ago- You can't have it both ways. Most women want a future and they will not have one with a married man. If your relationship continues in this manner by contacting each other and especially because the wife knows you could well end up in the middle of a divorce battle in court as 'the other woman.' There is no self respect in being the mistress of a married man and a waste of life because there is no future with this man. If in doubt put yourself in the shoes of the wife; she loves her husband and marriage vows are to respect and remain true to your partner which this man apparently does not respect. You have the power to leave this married man and, if wise you will do so no matter how much it hurts you. Married men that keep a mistress are having their cake and eating it too so if you think he completely loves you then you are being very foolish because if he really cared about you he'd divorce his wife and marry you. The statistics of a married man marrying his mistress is extremely low.
