are two solids that are mostly the same but crystaline is in a pattern that repeats its self were as amorphous does not so they are both solids for ex. if i said the pattern abcabcabc....(infinite) the pattern would just repeat itself over and over but, amorphous would be abc but wuoldnt repeat itself.

A true solid is a solid that you can touch, taste, smell, hear or see. It is a solid that you have proof that it is there.

An amorphous solid is a solid that you cannot touch, taste, smell, hear or see. You do not have proof of it.

Examples:

Amorphous solids: Invisible broomstick, an ogre, a magic wand etc.

True Solids: A chair, A trampoline, a steak etc.

No, solids can be crystalline or amorphous. I don't know a statistic but I suppose that the crystalline forms are predominant.

the difference between crystalline solids and amorphous solids are that particles in crystalline solids form a regular repeating pattern but in amorphous solids they are not arranged in a regular shapeCrystals are solids with fixed, regularpatterns

Are amorphous and crystalline the same?

Amorphous solids are non-crystalline solids that lack the long-range order of crystal structures. Even amorphous solids have some short-range order.

Are crystalline and amorphous solids?

Crystalline Solids are when the particles form a regular repeating pattern. Amorphous solids have particles that are not arranged in a regular pattern.

Why amorphous solids do not have sharp melting points while crystalline solids do have?

in crystalline solids, the atoms are arranged in an ordered fashion and hence they have sharp melting points. amorphous solids, due to random arrangement of the atoms do not have sharp melting points.
