the arrangement of xylem and pholem is radial i.e they are arranged in rings.

xylem is said to be exarch i.e, xylem bundle consists of protoxylem which lies abutting on the pericycle, and metaxylem towards the center.

Protoxylem consists of annular and spiral vessels, and metaxylem of reticulate and pitted vessels. A few isolated, big vessels may often be seen in the pith.
