Beethoven's early music was largely influenced by Mozart. He admired Mozart's music, and actually met him in Vienna at the age of sixteen, whereupon Mozart was so impressed by the young prodigy that he gave him his first composition lesson. Forced to return to Bonn with news that his mother was dying, Beethoven did not return to Vienna until 1792, by which time Mozart had died. Haydn then gave Beethoven further composition lessons for a short time, which is why music from this "first period" of Beethoven's composing career strongly reflects the styles of Mozart and Haydn.

Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven all have in common that they are from the classical period. Also, Haydn was Mozart's and Beethoven's teacher. They all could play the piano. They have all worked as a musician in Vienna. Haydn was born in 1732, Mozart 1756, and Beethoven was 1770. Haydn influenced both Mozart and Beethoven. Mozart became good friends with Haydn. Beethoven improved upon the classical music of Mozart and Haydn's time.
Beethoven's talent was recognised when he was very young, but only began to develop fully after he moved to Vienna in 1792 and studied under Joseph Haydn. This marked his "Early" composing career, when he tended to write music in the style of his predecessors, Haydn and Mozart.
