We know nothing about Daniel other than what is found in the second-century BCE Book of Daniel, which is not considered to be entirely reliable on historic detail. There are prior references to a Daniel in the Book of Ezekiel, where he was already compared to Noah and Job, but scholars say that these references must be to another Daniel - the Daniel of the Book of Daniel would have been no more than a boy at the time of Ezekiel.
Since the Book of Daniel was written several centuries after the time attributed to Daniel, one should ask whether Daniel was a real person and, if so, how well did the author really know him. Since the Book contains many historic errors, even giving the wrong name for the Persian (not Median) king who released the Jews, it is reasonable to assume that very little about Daniel that was historic had been passed down. In any case, there appears to be no reference to Daniel's marital state.
