Not really. Granting that Harold had rather immaturely assumed that Frannie could somehow be "his", they did significantly ignore the feelings of a person who was one, an overly sensitive teenager with all that implies, and two, someone who was actually of great help to them on their trip to Boulder.

They did recognize this later, and even attempted to atone, however it was too late, as Harold had already decided to give in to hatred and darkness, and follow "the Dark Man".
