Adam's first wife was lillith. Lillith was to demonic, eating babies, kind of a shiva or destroyer sort of wife. Adam couldn't hang with lillith so god and a rib got Adam eve. Adam usually represents reason, eve represents emotion, but Lillith likely represents a more archaic and wild free instinctual human quality, which just can't work for patriarchal religions. Lillith is often referenced to Calli, -also a destroyer, baby eater eastern(India?) goddess archetype. Angry and powerful self assertive woman...god help us.
