No. He made the first printing press which changed the world.
Johann Gutenberg was the first to invent the printing blocks which was around the 15th century. Later he started to experiment with metal types. (The first printing blocks were made out of wood)
Johann Gutenberg's famous quote was about how his invention, the printing press, would be used to spread the gospel. As a demonstration, the first book he printed with it was a Latin Bible. Gutenberg is regarded as 'the Steve Jobs of his day' by some.
Probably the most important that happened in 1450 was the invention of the first movable printing press. Johann Gutenberg made it work for the first time.

He invented (re-invented, without knowing it, as the Chinese were the first to invent it!) the printing press, spreading knowledge and ideas and making them much more affordable.

Johann Gutenberg developed the printing press, reducing the cost of printing books and thus allowing ordinary people to have access to previously expensive books.
Early examples Johann Gutenberg, better known for his contribution to printing technology, marketed a periscope in the 1430s to enable pilgrims to see over the heads of the crowd at the vigintennial religious festival at Aachen. Simon Lake used periscopes in his submarines in 1902

Periscopes A periscope is a instrument of observation used for naval use or for other war-like purposes. In fact the first periscope prototype was made by Johann Gutenberg which was used to enable people to see over the heads of the crowd at the Vigintennial religious festival at Aachen. In the navy it is used in submarines to view possible threats such as enemy submarines or sea mines. Marie Davey built the first naval periscope, a simple, fixed periscope using mirrors in 1854. A periscope works by using two mirrors to bounce light from one place to another. A typical periscope uses two mirrors at 45 degree angles to the direction one desires to see. The light bounces from one to the other and then out to the person's eye.
Johann Gutenberg is typically credited with the invention of the printing press because his movable type printing technology was more practical, efficient, and widely adopted. Pi Sheng's invention did predate Gutenberg's, but it was not widely circulated or as influential in the history of printing. Ultimately, Gutenberg's innovations had a more lasting impact on the development of printing technology.
