It can be chalked up to a lack of knowledge about his client. Although Carter was personal friends with Robert Palmer, he did not know a lot about his personal life and that is where the reporting errors cropped up. They started with Carter reporting Mary Ambrose as Robert Palmer's partner vacationing with him in Paris at the time of his death. Robert Palmer's companion at the time of his death was Geraldine Edwards. The reason for this misreport was that Carter and Ambrose were very close and had a child together in 2001. According to Carter, he took Ambrose at her word, and announced Ambrose's name to the press. In addition to this, Carter announced Robert Palmer's divorce date from Susan Palmer as 1991. The correct divorce date was in 1999. He also quoted that Robert Palmer was in "Perfect Health" prior to his death. That was not correct. Robert Palmer was suffering from Hypertension and was being treated medically for that condition. Jack Bruce, another of Mick Carter's client's, was vacationing with Robert Palmer in Paris, France at the time of his death, not Mary Ambrose. And finally, Mick Carter reported that Robert Palmer was only married once and had only two children. Robert Palmer was married twice and had five children. His final reporting faux pas was telling the press that Robert Palmer was to be buried at his home in Lugano, Switzerland. That is not correct. There was a Memorial Service for Robert Palmer in Lugano, Switzerland, however, Robert Palmer was buried in London, England.

No, no member of the Palmer family sanctions the website. Mark Palmer, Robert Palmer's younger brother kindly posted a blog to the site, but he does not endorse it in any way. From 2003 to 2006, the Palmer family and friends of Robert Palmer posted a website to honor his life. As they pointed out, it was only to help Robert Palmer fans who were having a hard time getting over his death. They took the site down in 2006. This site is posted by a Brigham Young University graduate who is a webmaster and very young. He is simply a fan of Robert Palmer's and wanted to post the site. He is not, nor has he ever been in contact with any Palmer family member or friend to get any endorsement of his site. A picture was sent to this site by Richard Coble, a former Production Coordinator of Robert Palmer's and a sometimes tour assistant Robert Palmer used while he was on tour from time to time. Also, a former administrative assistant from Island Records sent a couple of blogs to the site, one showing a telex that Robert Palmer sent her and a picture of Robert Palmer and Billy Bob Thornten with a blog attached that seems far fetched. She goes on at length about a double date at the movies with Robert Palmer in 1996 where "she, Harper, Mary and Robert saw Slingblade together. Not true. Robert Palmer was married to Susan Palmer in 1996, and David Harper who was Robert Palmer's manager at the time was married to singer Jo Florian, who was introduced to him by Robert Palmer. This woman was not on a date with David Harper like she stated, and Robert Palmer was not galavanting publicly with Mary Ambrose while married to Susan Palmer. An early article about Vinegar Joe is also posted by Elkie Brooks, who Robert Palmer had not spoken to since the seventies. The reason that this webmaster posted incorrect information in the discography section to certain songs was because Mary Ambrose contacted him to advise him that she was the co-author of several songs that she did not co-write with Robert Palmer. All anyone has to do is look at the albums' liner notes on any of the albums to be mentioned and Mary Ambrose's name will not appear anywhere within. This man gave credit to Mary Ambrose for writing Aeroplane in 1991 with Robert Palmer. Robert Palmer wrote that song alone, which appeared on Don't Explain in 91 and Ridin' High in 92. He also gave her credit for You Can't get Enough of a Good Thing which also appeared on Don't Explain. He gives her credit for Love Takes Time which appeared on 94's Honey and finally he gives her credit for True Love which appears on 99's Rhythm & Blues. Robert Palmer did not even meet Mary Ambrose until late 1995. She co-wrote none of these songs, however, the young man who put up the site wanted a connection to Palmer and got that through Mary Ambrose contacting him. He has been advised that his discography is not correct, but he will not change the information. Unfortunately, several other sites picked up this mans errors and started posting the lyrics and giving Ambrose credit for songs she did not co-write. The fact of the matter is that Robert Palmer wrote Aeroplane and You Can't Get Enough of a Good Thing alone, and he wrote Love Takes Time and True Love with Sharon O'Neill, who is a singer and songwriter from New Zealand. Mary Ambrose attempted to take credit for this woman's work. All in all, the Palmer family and close Palmer confidantes do not not recommend this website as a source of information regarding Robert Palmer. The information contained in large portions of this site are flawed or suspect.

Yes. Ray Manzarek, Robbie Krieger and John Densmore played for about two more years (into 1973) after Jim Morrison died. The three Doors put out two albums, Other Voices and Full Circle. The threesome was not successful and so disbanded. The three appeared on a VH1 special about 2001 with various lead singers. Ray and Robbie have since toured with a bass player, drummer and new lead singer (three different ones to date). Go to the website of either Ray or Robbie to find out more.

Mary Ambrose did try to contact certain papers to sell her exclusive story of her secret marriage to Robert Palmer, which never took place. Two of the papers she contacted were the National Enquirer and the The Globe. She alleged that she and Robert Palmer got married quietly in Turkey in 1996. When asked if she could produce a valid wedding license and documentation that she was legally married to Robert Palmer, including pictures, she said no, the the documents had been lost and that nobody would send her copies of them. She was asking for $75,000.00 in exchange for the exclusive interview. The papers Ambrose contacted did their research, and discovered that Robert Palmer was married to Susan Palmer in 1996. When Robert Palmer's family and friends heard of what Mary Ambrose was up to, they contacted the papers to tell them that no such marriage had ever taken place and that Palmer was married in 96 to Susan Palmer. Needless to say, those papers Mary Ambrose contacted to write her "story" declined her offer. Robert Palmer's last marriage was to Susan Palmer, whom he was divorced from in 1999. It was revealed that in 1996, Mary Ambrose was living with a couple that Robert Palmer was business partners with and also friends with as their live-in Au Pair. The couples name was John and Rae Agostino. Palmer started dating Mary Ambrose in 2000 and was not intimately involved with him in 1996. And finally, Mary Ambrose was legally prohibited from referring to herself as Robert Palmer's girlfriend by the Palmer family in 2003 by the agency of a Cease and Desist letter. As it turned out, Robert Palmer's girlfriend at the time of his death and since his divorce from Susan Palmer was none other than Geraldine Edwards, the woman Almost Famous was written about. She and Palmer were relocating to Los Angeles, prior to Palmer's death.

The article was publicly debunked because Robert Palmer had never given the interview. The article was pointed out to the Palmer family and to Robert Palmer's publicity agent, Elizabeth Freund, who looked into the matter. Freund kept a log of Robert Palmer's interviews fastidiously, and noticed that no such interview was given by Palmer. The writer of the article was contacted to clarify the situation, and she informed the Palmer family's attorney that she had conducted the interview by telephone, and had provided the exact date and time the alleged telephone interview took place. As it turned out, at the time the interview was allegedly taking place, Robert Palmer was onstage recording his television special "Every Kinda People", and numerous people vouched for his whereabouts at the time. Obviously, Palmer could not have been giving a telephone interview and performing onstage at the same time, therefore the article was publicly debunked. Apparently, the article was pointed out in the first place because Mary Ambrose was not Robert Palmer's girlfriend, that was Geraldine Edwards, as stated publicly by Robert Palmer. Secondly, the article attributed preposterous quotes as being made by Robert Palmer. As Anna Palmer pointed out, the verbiage was not her father's style and it raised a red flag. Later on it was revealed that Mary Ambrose had put a "friend" up to impersonating Palmer for the interview, who was later questioned, as some people close to Robert Palmer suspected this was the case. The man, who's name was Christopher Locke, and was close to Mary Ambrose, admitted to what he had done, and said he had done it as a favor to Mary Ambrose after she had begged him to help her. He said that he regretted his actions, and did not realize that the interview would actually be published. When Ambrose was questioned about her actions, she told Anna Palmer "I know Robert loved me and I wanted the world to know! I had every right to do it!" The article was then officially debunked, but not before numerous people read it.
