I believe that Louis Armstrong did own a Baseball team. It was called "Armstrong's Secret 9 Baseball Team of New Orleans". It was an all black team I have an 8x10 photo dated 1931 of him with his team.

Louis Daniel Armstrong was born August 4 1901, in 'Uptown' New Orleans, Louisiana. Louis started his career in music in the Orleans Home for Colored Waifs where he joined the band playing the cornet.Working on riverboats in jazz bands Louis honed his playing style and eventually he was invited by Joe "King" Oliver, to join his Creole jazz band in 1922.
