Physics, Chemistry
Her husband, Pierre Curie, worked with Marie Curie when they discovered Polonium. The Curies also discovered that Thorium, discovered in 1829 by Jöns Jakob Berzelius, emits radiation.
Marie Curie worked with her husband Pierre Curie on magnetism and radioactivity and discovered radium. Marie Curie shared the 1903 Nobel Prize for Physics with Becquerel for the discovery of radioactivity. She was awarded the Nobel Prize for Chemistry for isolating polonium and radium, in 1911.
Curie did not discover radiation -- Henri Becquerel did. Curie simply showed that the amount of radiation coming from uranium compounds depended only on the amount of uranium in the sample, not on the chemical make-up of the compound. This strongly suggested that the radiation was coming from the atoms of uranium themselves, a revolutionary idea for its time. The Curies later found other elements that were radioactive; radium being the most intense of those.
At the time, nobody knew that the radiation from the elements she was working with had great potential for harming life. She worked around a lot of radioactivity for many years and (most likely) died because of it.

Pierre Curie was the husband of Marie Curie, and he worked with his wife on very important research into the phenomenon of radiation, for which the Curies and their fellow scientist Antoine Becquerel jointly won the Nobel Prize in physics.

Lise Meitner was a renowned physicist who worked in the fields of radioactivity and nuclear physics. Originally from Austria, she moved to Sweden to escape persecution from the Nazi's.
James chadwick was a scientist who made many contributions to the atom and he worked on various radioactivity problems. Sir James Chadwick has been given the credit for discovering the neutron.

Marie Curie is speacial because she won the Mattucci medel, the Day medal, theNobel Prize in physics with her husband Pierre Curie and a scientist she worked with and then in chemistry. Also Her daughter won the nobel prize in chemistry for discovering artificial radioactivity. P.S. This is all true because I did research on Marie Curie like only 3 weeks ago.
"worked" here is an intransitive verb, because it has no direct object. The sentence does not say what was worked by Luis. In the sentence, "Luis worked the problem very quickly.", worked is transitive because it has a direct object, the problem was worked.
I worked and worked and worked. And learnt alot from my work
because
