There were no connections between the two. Remember that Jack the Ripper was real and Sherlock Holmes was a fictitious character. There have been a couple of attempts to merge the two and there is at least one movie that connects the two.

Kitty Langley is a character played by Merle Oberon in the movie "The Lodger. " A 40's movie that is loosely based on Jack the Ripper. Also staring George Saunders. Black & white. Not a bad movie.

The Yorkshire Ripper is Peter Suttcliff who was convicted of 13 murders in 1981. The New York Ripper is a fictonal character.
