In ordinary peasant houses the fireplace was bricked around on three sides and placed either in the roofless kitchen or outside in a courtyard, many people also had a clay oven for baking bread. Cooking inside an enclosed room would have been extremely hot, smelly and smoky so it would not have been sensible.

Fuel was most often dried dung (both animal and human) because of the shortage of suitable wood in Egypt; dried grass, brushwood and vegetable waste were also burned.

there may have been but not like ours and i dont think there really was restaurants back then but even once in a while there would have been a banquet at the palace
