yes, because in ancient India, from the early man to the coming of Aryans all worshiped gods. The early man worshiped the forces of nature, the Harrapans worshiped the animal gods & others, and the Hindus or Aryans worshiped the present Hindu gods. But due to development of early man & the invasions of Aryans, the gods of early man & Harrapan civilization got forgotten with time.

Ancient India which had a faith known as Sanatana Dharma, worshipped God in the nameless and formless state. The ancient Hinduism did not have millions of Gods, it believed that God was the power within, that we are all the Divine Spirit. That we are all manifestations of God. There is no doubt that ancient India believed and worshipped God but they worshipped human beings because human beings are none other than the manifestations of God. They realized that the kingdom of God is within, that God lives in the temple of the heart. It is much later that Hinduism developed and became a religion of so many Gods, but in ancient India, God was not a statue or saint, God was a power.
