Yes, it did. Right before it went down about 1400 feet (sorry i am a huge expert on the titanic) it broke in half. Separating in to three one small and two big pieces apart a very long ways. You would have been lucky to survive
No, in fact, the Titanic was believed to be "unsinkable." Believe it or not, yes, some people did. And to agree with the person who originally answered this, alot of people did say "shes unsinkable" and " not even god could sink this ship".Well god showed em.But,one man thought something was going to happen so he never boarded the ship, and i bet he wasnt the only one.14 years before the crash,in 1898, a man named Morgan Robertson wrote a book called Wreck of The Titan, and both faced the same "fate." Robertson's book was about an unsinkable passenger liner that sank while carrying the elite people of the time. The ship in Robertson's story was called the Titan and the book was titled The Wreck of the Titan. Even though the book is fictitious, the events in the story parallel the events of the Titanic. Both ships were built to be unsinkable. Both ships sank after striking an iceberg. Both ships were on their maiden voyage(their first voyage). The most well to do famous people were on the Titan and Titanic. Only one third of the passengers on each ship survived. Both ships had an inadequate number of lifeboats. Both ships were encouraged to break speed records during their voyage. The book was never published because the editors kept rejecting it.Well, there you go,while most people though it was unsinkable, some knew something was bound to happen.I'm 12 but im fascinated with the titanic.I dont know why its darkened but highlight the spots and it'll reveal the word
The few people that survived the event of the Titanic DID see the Titanic sink. Although, I don't know if anyone from the Titanic is still alive today. Hope I helped :)
Lifebelts were distributed to as many passengers as possible.
Nobody really knew that Titanic was going to sink until Thomas Andrews confirmed it to Captain Smith at 12:25; 45 minutes after the collision.
