I can totally agree with your feeling about this wicked world, it seems like totally innocent people have terrible things happen to them. What is interesting is that The Bible says that these things will happen, and also what the reason is. 1 John 5:19 says , "the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one." God is not the reason that this suffering is happening, actually we are told that he cares for us. (1 peter 5:7) God hates wickedness and suffering far more than any human does. We can see how much he cares for us by looking at what the Bible promises for mankind. Revelation 21:4 says, "and he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." This is just one of the many promises the Bible fortells. The way to finding these promises and how to reap the benefit of these promises, is to study the Bible. I would be happy to show you many more comforting scriptures found in your own copy of the Bible. Just reply to this answer.

To add God would not let bad things happen to you he may simply be testing your Faith as well. In my opinion I think 'bad things' are the devil tempting you. You are also in charge of your life and the decisions you make so consequences come with every action you make. This question is an opinion. God is truly a mystery , but is very loving and forgiving in every way, the devil is contrary of him.
