It was Dr. Spock`s grandson that committed suicide in 1983.
because he was sad and depressed :(
Quick thing, he only commits suicide in the movie. In the book he doesn't. There are many reasons. I think it is because, and don't quote me on this. Hrothgar might of been upset, it was (SPOILER ALERT) his son Grendel who did all the damage. Now, his only son died and he is upset. He has no son besides the demonic monster who would never become king. His wife never gave him a son, because he was seduced by Grendel's mother who remains nameless.
where you go when you die isn't based on who you die but it does depend on if you truly trust in the one true God and his son Jesus. but that's another answer for a different Q
There is no way to know for certain when the first human being took their own life. The first suicide note is thought to have been written by an Egyptian four thousand years ago. In his poems, he describes the pain of his existence and the attractions of death. The first suicide recorded in the Bible was Abimelech, who lived in the twelfth century B.C. He was the son of Giddeon (Jerubbaal) and a concubine, he attempted to kill his half-brothers (70 of them) so he could be king. In his final battle, a woman dropped a millstone on his head, and he ordered his sword bearer to kill him so it would never be said he was killed by a woman.
He shot himself

Kamal's father commits suicide in "The Kite Runner" because he is unable to cope with the shame and humiliation of his son's assault, which he perceives as a stain on the family's honor. The trauma and guilt overwhelm him, leading him to take his life.
Jesus didnt commit suicide he was killed because of those who didn't believe in him and through his religion and the people that followed him was starting to be to strong so then they forced him to death. Wrong....Jesus knew if he did what he did, he would be put to death not much unlike those who do the "cop by suicide" acts that we see today. So yes, he committed suicide for all mankind. He took the blame for all of us then did the deed. Ouch!.....makes you think, don't it? Years ago, when the bible was being written, people believed in animal and human sacrifice. Because the primitive people that wrote the bible believed in human sacrifice, they wrote the fable that their god sent his son to be violently tortured and sacrificed by commiting suicide. So their god brutally sacrificed his own son to himself by ordering his son, and making his own son commit sacrificial suicide.
Christians believe that Jesus did not commit suicide, but rather willingly sacrificed himself to save humanity from sin. God sending his son, Jesus, to be crucified is seen as an act of love and redemption, not violence. Christians believe that Jesus' death and resurrection bring salvation and reconciliation between God and humanity.
