Muhammad did not write the Qura'n. The Qura'n was written in the Caliphate of Abu Bakr. In Muhammad's lifetime however, all the revelations were written on the likes of camel bones and palm-tree leaves. It was from these sources that all the revelations on Muhammad were compiled and formed into one book; the Qura'n.
*There is a vast difference between the Qura'n and the revelations on Muhammad. The Qura'n was compiled and verified by a group of chosen Sahaba, while the revelations were divine in nature.
