∙ 11y agoNo the Romans never invaded Scandinavia. The furthest north they conquered in continental Europe was the mouth of the river Rhine. They did not go beyond southern Germany and Holland south of the river Rhine.
However the Romans knew of the peoples of Scandinavia. The ancient writer Tacitus mentions them and recently there have been Viking tombs unearthed with Roman artifacts, such as glass and weapons in them. No final conclusion has been drawn. Some historians think that the Romans may have hired men from Scandinavia as mercenaries while others think the artifacts were items from trade.
