They were able to hire the troupe of diminutive performers owned and operated by Leopold von Singer (May 3, 1877 - March 5, 1951). The troupe's owner operator had devoted considerable resources to draining his diminutive performers in acrobatics, dancing, singing and Wrestling. He ended up with a total of 124 performers employed as Munchkins and Winged Monkeys for the beloved 1939 film version of "The Wizard of Oz."
