After Titanic sunk, there was a debris field with many bodies and objects, like the barber shop pole, but Carpathia saw none of this, only the survivors who rowed thru it.

The people on the rescue vessel only saw bits of cork in the water.

No. Titanic was not lost BUT Officer Boxhall gave coordinates to Capt. Smith that were wrong by thirteen miles which meant the wreck was lost for many decades.
