throughout the entire dbz series Gohan had a hidden power more powerful than

Finally in the cell saga gohan learned to control his power then when gohan was battling cell he demolished him and when he was demolished goku told him to finish him but wouldn't listen he wanted him to suffer the cell went to self destruct mode which brought gohan to the ground. goku had 1 last trick.goku instant transmissioned him and cell to king khais and blew up with cell.
then cell came back because of yet 1 little cell of his body survived.cell went straight back to earth and in the dust clouds he shot a blast randomly and it hit trunks right through the heart
