The difference between Christmas and New Year's is this: Christmas is the holiday on the 25th of December, where people give presents to each other, symbolizing the birth of Jesus Christ. That's where we ge the Christ-mas part. New Year's is the last day of the year and the first of a new year. The new year is celebrated with fireworks.

The difference between New Year's day and New Year's Eve is here. On new year's eve, you celebrate my birthday also as celebrating the day before New year. On new Years day you celebrate the New year and make New year resolutions (it's said res-o-lu-shun, and a resolution is a promise that you should keep all year) and have a festive family time.

Well first off, they are completely different things. One celebrates it on Dec. and the other in the 'new years' time.

Christmas is a day of celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. Although no one know's for sure what day he was truly born, it symbolizes that he was born, and Christians celebrate this day.

Chinese New Year is just a celebration of a new year in Chinese form. I believe the time is different from our New Years because they go by the moon.
