There are actually many disadvantages. Yes, hydrogen power would be a great incentive but there just isn't enough of it. Only 3 states produce hydrogen and it can only be found on earth's surface in compound form. About 200 vehicles in the U.S. run on hydrogen, but not hydrogen alone. They also run on gasoline. There is only 25 hydrogen refueling stations in the U.S. and they don't plan on making anymore since there's very little hydrogen cars. Why would people buy them if they can't refuel them, and why are they going to build more stations if people aren't buying the cars? The inherent barrier is obvious, there isn't enough hydrogen to be harvested to run enough cars to make a difference. A car running solely on hydrogen would emit almost NO emissions, so it would be a great option for us, but it just can't happen yet.

Some advantages of liquid fuels are:

  • drinks are an example and they have energy in it
  • the amount of useful can be changed in flight
  • easy to move.

I'm not sure about gaseous fuel,
